Parmjit says, "This bill is being rushed through."

Parmjit Singh Gill MP, Member of Parliament for Leicester South, along with Liberal Democrat front-bench spokespersons, has backed an amendment to the Licensing Act that will call for a delay in implementing

extending pub opening hours.

Parmjit said:

"Given the concerns raised by Leicestershire police and others, it would clearly be prudent to allow the police and Local Authorities more time to prepare for flexible drinking hours.

"In addition, the government's plans for a levy on the drinking industry also needs to be worked through in detail before any new licenses are granted."
