The Leader of Newcastle City Council joins Castle Ward Cllr Debbie Almey and Cllr Roger Blackmore with Cllr Andy Metcalfe to see the final touches to building work at the Dawn Centre

The new Dawn Centre which will provide residents and day visitors with dedicated support from a number of agencies and help to challenge the real issues surrounding homelessness and social exclusion in the South Highfields area is on time to open.

The centre will have 42 single bedrooms, with day centre services including life skills, such as cooking on a budget and IT training. There will also be a fully equipped doctors surgery.
