£2,423 spent on chandeliers

Leicester Lib Dems have requested that the City Council reveal how much taxpayers money has been spent decorating the City Council Leaders office after it emerged that £2,423 had been spent on three chandeliers.

Lib Dems are requesting the cost of new doors, carpets, new lights and the redecoration of the office. Peter Coley, Leader of the Lib Dem council group said, "I realise certain works would have needed to be undertaken as part of the Town Hall improvements but spending thousands on chandeliers seems a little extravagant."
