Backing for Bus Campaign

Councillors, Farmer, Smith, Green and Henry, met local residents to be handed a petition with hundreds of signatures, calling for a local bus route to be re-established.

Councillor Henry said,

"Local residents are disappointed that First Buses have decided to change the route in their area, leaving many people without an easily accessible bus service"

This petition builds upon the policy motion that Councillors Farmer and Henry, that called for buses to be regulated by local authorities, instead of the bus companies, in order to ensure that fare increases are kept to a minimum and that bus routes are maintained.
