Members of the Liberal Democrats came from across Leicestershire yesterday to stand side by side with other organisations in the Parade from the county for the Leicester Pride festival.

A sea of colour, smiles and positivity left the Curve Theatre around midday with the prosession being led by a mini fire engine taking the route along Rutland Street, Humberstone Gate, High Street, Loseby Lane, Millstone Lane, Market Street, King Street and along New Walk where music and dance from Sambando Leics greeted the walkers arriving at the junction of New Walk and Granville Road.

Along the hour long walk as the public watched, photographed or recorded the event Liberal Democrats members engaged with the public giving out party literature which was received in good spirit.

Various musical acts, dance, stalls and fairground were enjoyed by the public at Victoria Park during the afternoon and evening.

"Our party has always been there for LGBT+ people and we always will be." - Mathew Hulbert, Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrats.
