On-Line Petition to keep Children's Heart Services in Leicester

Health campaigner and Leicester South Parliamnetry candidate Zuffar Haq is fighting for the future of children's heart surgery at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.

Glenfield Hospital only appears in one of the four options for future children's heart surgery. Zuffar Haq and the local Lib Dems want to keep the unit here in Leicester.

Zuffer said, "A national review is being carried out by the NHS Specialised Services, it is recommending the number of hospitals carrying out surgery on children born with heart problems is cut from 11 to six or seven. Glenfield Hospital would remain a surgical centre in one of four proposals put forward, Option A. If Option A is not chosen when the decision is made this autumn, patients would have to travel to Birmingham."
