Stonesby Avenue/Aylestone Lane footbridge repaired after report from Eyres Monsell Ward campaigners

Regular Eyres Monsell Campaigners Scott Kennedy-Lount and Christopher Garner are pleased to report their recent enquiries to Leicester City and Leicestershire County Councils concerning the repairs required on the Railway Footbridge linking the busy Stonesby Avenue/Aylestone Lane have been completed by the County Authority.

The Eyres Monsell Team were contacted in September by residents concerned the state the footbridge was at the time could potentially cause injury to pedestrians.

The Footbridge links Stonesby Avenue in Eyres Monsell Ward, Leicester and Aylestone Lane in Oadby and Wigston Borough in Leicestershire; these routes linking Wigston Magna and the Saffron Cross Roads (Porkpie Island).

Although reported by City Residents the bridge falls in the county and work was completed recently by Leicestershire County Council.
