Zuffar Haq has seen at first hand the plight of poor people in Pakistan.

Local businessman and Lib Dem Castle Ward candidate Zuffar Haq, has had five 40ft containers filled with vital medical supplies to be shipped to hospitals in Pakistan and Nigeria.

Zuffar, who is the Chairman of the International Hospital Equipment Trust (which collects and delivers aid to disaster zones.) has seen at first hand the plight of people in Pakistan. Lately he has amassed more than £5 million worth of equipment donated by hospitals across the country.

Zuffar Haq told local press, "Hospital trusts have taken this charity to heart and have made a real difference to the lives of people in poorer countries. "This equipment is redundant in the UK and my charity removes the cost of its disposal by simply collecting it from the hospital and donating it to worthy causes."

The gathered items so far include x-ray machines, ultrasound and dialysis machines, anaesthetics, crutches, bandages & beds, desks, TVs.
