Responding to an upcoming report to the County Councils cabinet on the 'Future direction of children and young peoples services', Liberal democrats have raised their concerns about the impact of the changes.
Lib Dems on Leicestershire County Council recently obtained a copy of a Judicial Review that involved the County Council and EMCARE, the consortium that represents private care home providers in the County. The issue that has ended up in front of the high court turned out to be fairly simple - the County Council hadn't monitored nor knew the actual cost of providing a place for an elderly person in a care home in Leicestershire.

Expanding the use of the internet requires improvements to the capacity and speed of the internet system. Government policy is to roll out 'super-fast' broadband to 90% of the population by 2015. This roll out is principally focused on urban areas and centres of high economic activity and population, with investment from government (£530m up to 2015 and possibly £300m more up to 2017).
